My friend Angela just sent me this.
Dear Trish,
I think we officially met on Missions 2009. But I remember seeing you at other events..like Winter Blast and Ignite. And I was like "Who's that chick?". But thajn we did finally meet on Missions and I was like.. "Hey..she seems cool"..and you were the only person I was comfortable around in the showers on that trip..I know people..that sounds weird..but..it's not like that. We would just be there..talking and I was totally comfortable around you. And there was probably noone else I was comfortable around or that would have been comfortable around. I like how you have over come so much in your life and still seem to have a positive outcome on life and you just go to God if you're feeling down instead of all that negative shit. I'm glad that I met you and I hope to see you when you come back to thee wonderful state of Minnesota! I bet you've missed these winters. XP

Angela and I met at TreeHouse and on Missions, which was my last trip, and the last time I saw almost everyone, we became fast friends. We'd hung out at other events, like the winter retreats and Ignite, the worship nights. She went to a different TH (there are 7 branches in the Minneapolis area) but we became super close. She and I had body image issues and showers were stressful. But like she said, we would talk and we had some of the deepest, amazing conversations hiding in the back stalls talking and we'd tell each other that we needed to eat on the trips and we'd sit at dinner and support each other. She was there for me when the ex drama came about. I was there for her when her best friend committed suicide. I met some of the most incredible people at TH. I am still in contact with 95% of them. They helped me to keep going when things get hard because I know that they do genuinely care and they are some of the most amazing people I know.
Never underestimate the power of being genuine and being kind. It will get you so far in life and you will meet amazing people because of it.
